I've entered the totally addicting world of couponing...
It's wonderful.
I love it.
I couldn't wait for Sunday to come so I could go buy my newspapers.
It just might turn into a sickness if I'm not controlled...
It began last week when I decided to lose my coupon virginity to CVS... and ahhhhhh was it wonderful! I clipped and clipped for an hour and did my best to match the best sales to what coupon I had... I think that was the hardest part. I read and re-read the coupons to make sure I was ready. I wanted to let the coupons take me to first base before I went "all the way". I needed to know they would love me back. That we might just have a shot at a real relationship...
So, armed with scattered envelopes loaded with coupons, Erik and I went to CVS. We got all our items and nervously went to the register. The first time can be pretty scary. Our total was around $80! We handed over the coupons and held our breath while the cashier scanned our 15+ coupons. Our final total was $32 and we earned $4 EB's (Extra Bucks) for our next purchase!!! This was so much fun!
This morning I woke up and jumped out of bed and ran to CVS to buy my papers. I bought four this week (because most places will accept 4 like coupons in one visit). When I got home though... someone had robbed 3 of the papers of their sale ads and some of the coupons! I was so angry!
A couple hours later I showed up at Walgreens with a new coupon organizer and left paying only $28 for a $70 purchase! AND if the cashier had not messed up I would have received $5 RR (Register Rewards) toward my next purchase. I also should have saved $8 more in coupons the lady did not accept. After waiting in line for a long time and with a crying toddler I wasn't in the mood to argue the point, but it would have been $15 had I done that! Wowza!
I'll try to upload some couponing photos later!
